Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to remake that YSL June Box Bag for a while now, and I finally did it! I’m pretty stoked about how it turned out, so I thought I’d share my process with you guys.

First off, I hit up a bunch of online stores, trying to find something similar to the June Box Bag. I mean, those YSL bags are gorgeous, but my wallet definitely can’t handle that kind of price tag right now. I looked at Quince, checked out some stuff on Amazon, and even considered a Tory Burch bag that had a similar vibe. There’s a ton of options out there if you’re willing to dig a little. I found many bags look like YSL styles.

I ended up finding this faux leather bag for around 89 bucks. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it had the right boxy shape and a nice, simple design. That was my starting point.

Here’s what I did:

• Gathered my materials: I got the bag, some leather paint, a few brushes, and some sealant. I already had most of this stuff lying around from other projects.
• Prepped the bag: I cleaned the bag really well to make sure the paint would stick. This part is super important, don’t skip it!
• Started painting: I wanted to add a bit of my own flair, so I decided to paint a simple geometric pattern on the front flap. I used a small brush and went really slow to make sure the lines were clean. It took a couple of coats to get the color nice and solid.
• Added the details: Once the paint was dry, I added a few little gold accents with a metallic marker. Just a few touches here and there to make it pop.
• Sealed it up: After everything was completely dry, I sprayed the whole bag with a sealant to protect the paint and make it more durable. I did a couple of coats of this, just to be safe.

And that’s pretty much it! It took me a couple of days, mostly just waiting for the paint to dry between coats. I’m really happy with how it turned out. It’s not an exact replica of the YSL June Box Bag, but it’s got the same kind of feel, and it’s totally unique to me. Plus, I saved a ton of money, which is always a win. I carried it out to the party last night, everyone was asking me where I got it, and I was so proud to say I made it myself!

If you’re thinking about doing something similar, I say go for it! It’s a fun project, and it’s a great way to get the look you want without spending a fortune. Just remember to take your time, be patient, and have fun with it!
