So, I saw this PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag at the official flagship store and I was like, “I gotta have it!” But the price tag? Ouch. So, I thought, “Why not try to remake it myself?” I mean, how hard could it be, right?
First things first, I needed to get a good look at the bag. This bag is based on their old mini hobo design. I spent a good chunk of time digging through pictures online, trying to get a feel for the shape, size, and all those little details.
The Re-Edition 2005 has this cool, adjustable strap with the Prada logo, and get this—it even has a little coin purse attached to the strap. I thought, “Okay, that’s a neat touch.” And you know, the bag comes with a coordinated pouch that hooks to the strap, which is also pretty cool.
I started by sketching out the design. I’m no artist, but I managed to draw something that resembled a bag. Then, I went hunting for materials. This Prada handbag is crafted of crystal-embellished black satin with silver hardware. I found some nice black satin fabric and some shiny silver hardware that looked pretty close to the original.
Now came the hard part – actually making the bag. I pulled out my old sewing machine, which I hadn’t used in ages, and got to work. Cutting the fabric was a bit tricky.
