Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with watches again. This time, it’s the CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Super RacingOriginal order. Yeah, that’s a mouthful, I know. Anyway, I got my hands on one of these, and let me tell you, it’s been an interesting ride.

First off, I started by just looking at the thing. I mean, really looking at it. They say it came out last year, this new Speedmaster Super Racing, so I wanted to see what the hype was about. It’s got that classic Speedmaster look, you know? The 42mm stainless steel case, the steel bracelet with the folding clasp – all that good stuff. It looks tough, like it could take a beating and keep on ticking. That’s a big plus in my book, ’cause I’m not exactly gentle with my watches.

Then I got into the details. The dial is black, with those three chronograph sub-dials. And the crystal? Domed, scratch-resistant sapphire. Fancy, right? I tried scratching it a few times, just to test it out, and it held up. No marks. Nice! I also noticed it’s got some anti-reflective stuff on the crystal, which is helpful when you’re out in the sun.

I spent some time reading up on the history of the Speedmaster, too. Apparently, it’s been to the moon and back – literally. All six moon landings, they say. That’s pretty cool, if you ask me. Makes you feel like you’re wearing a piece of history on your wrist.

  • Checking out the movement: This is where things got a bit technical. They call it the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 1932. Sounds complicated, and it is. From what I gathered, it’s like, the most complicated movement OMEGA has ever made. It does chronograph stuff and something called a minute repeater. I’m still trying to wrap my head around that one.
  • Playing with the “Spirate” thing: This was new to me. It’s some kind of adjustment system. You can supposedly tweak it really precisely. I messed around with it a little, but honestly, I didn’t notice much of a difference. Maybe I need more practice, or maybe it’s just beyond my level of watch expertise.

After all that, I decided to wear the watch for a few days. Just to see how it felt in real life. It’s comfortable, I’ll give it that. Not too heavy, not too light. And it definitely gets noticed. I had a couple of people ask me about it, which is always fun.

Final Thoughts

So, what’s the verdict? Well, this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing is a solid watch. It’s well-built, looks good, and has some cool history behind it. The whole “Spirate” thing is a bit over my head, but maybe some of you watch nerds out there will appreciate it. Plus, they say it’s a good investment and holds its value. Who knows, maybe I’ll sell it someday and make a profit. For now, though, I’m just enjoying wearing it. It makes me feel like a bit of a spaceman, even if I’m just sitting at my desk.
