Hey everyone, so I’ve been on this little project lately, and I thought I’d share the whole journey with you all. I’ve been wanting to remake a Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG, the classic style one. Yeah, that’s the one, sounds fancy, doesn’t it? But it’s a real gem, and I figured, why not try to recreate it myself?
So, first things first, I did a ton of research. I mean, I was all over the internet, checking out pictures, reading articles, and trying to understand what makes this bag so special. They say it’s a classic, that it holds its value, and it’s all about the details. I learned that it first came out in 2013 and people still love it today. That’s saying something, right?
After I felt like I had a good grasp on what the bag was all about, I started gathering materials. The real deal is made with some high-quality stuff, so I tried my best to find materials that felt just as luxurious. I went to a few different fabric stores and finally found some leather that I thought would work. And the hardware, oh boy, finding the right buckles and chains took some time. I wanted that YSL Cassandre logo to look just right.
Then came the actual making of the bag. I got out my sewing machine, some tools, and started cutting the leather. It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. I measured everything like a hundred times to make sure it was perfect. I pinned the pieces together, and then I started sewing. I went slow, making sure each stitch was as neat as I could get it. I assembled the bag piece by piece, kind of like a puzzle.
The hardest part was definitely getting the shape right. The JUNE BOX BAG has this unique, kind of round shape, and it took me a few tries to get it to look the way I wanted. I used some cardboard to help shape it while I was sewing. It was a bit of trial and error, but I learned a lot along the way.

Finally, after many hours of work, my remake of the YSL JUNE BOX BAG was complete. It’s not exactly like the original, of course, but I’m really proud of how it turned out. It’s got that classic look, and it feels pretty darn good to carry around. Plus, I made it with my own two hands, which is a pretty cool feeling.
