So, I’ve been messing around with watches lately, and I gotta tell you about this one project I did. It’s about making a high imitation Rolex, specifically the Two-tone Black Submariner. Yeah, the classic style, you know? I wanted to see if I could get that fancy look without, well, you know, spending a fortune.
First off, I did some digging. I found out that this year is actually the 70th Anniversary of the Rolex Submariner. Can you believe it? They started making them back in 1953. I mean, they weren’t the very first dive watch – some other brand called Blancpain beat them to it by a few months, but still. 70 years! That’s a long time.
Anyway, I got my hands on some replica parts. You can find these replica Rolex Submariner watches for sale all over the place. Not sure about the legality, but, I did it for personal use. There are stores that sell these high imitation Rolex parts. They’re not the real deal, obviously, but they look pretty darn close. I went with the Two-tone Black Submariner because, let’s be honest, it just looks classy. Even the fake gold on these replicas, it kinda adds to the whole vibe, you know? And they are not cheap compared to simple ones! It’s way cheaper than a real Rolex, of course, but still.
Getting Down to Business
- Gathering the Parts: This was the fun part. I found a bunch of different pieces online – the case, the band, the face, the whole shebang. It felt like putting together a puzzle.
- Assembling the Watch: Okay, this was trickier than I thought. There are a lot of tiny little parts in these things. I almost lost a screw or two, but I managed to get it all together. I used to be good at this when I was a kid!
- Checking it Out: Once it was all assembled, I had to see if it actually worked. And you know what? It did! It kept time pretty well, too. I mean, it’s not as accurate as the real thing, I’m sure, but it was good enough for me.
The whole process was a blast. I learned a lot about watches, and I ended up with something that looked pretty cool, if I do say so myself. Now, I’m not saying you should go out and buy a bunch of fake watch parts. But if you’re into watches, and you want to try something different, it’s definitely a fun project. Just don’t try to pass it off as a real Rolex, okay? That’s not cool. And don’t spend too much money on these things. Remember, they’re not the real deal.
For me, this whole high imitation Rolex project was a success. It’s a fun, affordable way to get that classic Submariner style. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to afford the real thing. But until then, I’m pretty happy with my little creation.
