So, I was thinking about getting myself a Rolex GMT-Master II, the one with the “Batman” bezel. You know, the black and blue one? It’s a pretty sweet watch, but man, those prices at the official stores are just insane. I mean, who has that kind of money to throw around? Not me, that’s for sure. So, I started looking into other options, you know, ways to get that same look without selling my car. I went to the stores and tried some ways to get the same feeling.
First, I took a look around in the store, and one thing that kind of caught my eye was this other Rolex, the Explorer II. It’s got the same movement, they call it the Calibre 3285, so it’s like the same engine under the hood. I thought, that’s a good start! It was a real watch, but I thought it doesn’t really give me that “Batman” vibe. It’s a bit different, doesn’t have that two-color bezel that I really wanted. Still, I figured it was worth keeping in mind.
Then I started thinking about my own watch. I love it, I really do, but it’s not really in the same league as a Rolex. But I looked at it and started to find some feelings about “Batman” bezel. I decided to try other ways.
- Go online to search for information I thought, maybe there are other brands out there making watches that look similar to the GMT-Master II, but cost way less.
- Go to the watch store to try some watches I chose some watches which have same black and blue bezel.
- Try and Compare I put these watches on my wrist. Turned them this way and that. Squinted at them in different lighting, really tried to get a feel for the watches.
After I tried all the ways, I found some watches look just like the GMT-Master II, even have the black and blue bezel. It’s not a Rolex, obviously, but it definitely gives off a similar vibe. When I put it on my wrist, I can get some feelings about “Batman”. I’m still not 100% sure if it’s the right move, but it’s got me thinking. I mean, I could have that same look, that same feeling, without having to take out a second mortgage.
So, that’s where I’m at right now. Still on the fence, but definitely leaning towards getting a high imitation “Batman” bezel watch. It’s not the real deal, but it might just be the next best thing. I am happy I found this way.
