Well, I got my hands on this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Chrono Chime the other day. Heard a lot about it, you know, folks saying it’s like a whole bunch of watches rolled into one. So, I figured, why not give it a shot? I went down to the local shop, a small place, not too fancy, but they had a decent selection.
First thing I did was try it on. It felt solid, you know, not like those cheap things that break after a week. It’s got some weight to it, makes you feel like you’re wearing something substantial. And the size, it’s just right, not too big, not too small. A classic 45.5 mm, just like the old-timers used to wear.
Then, I started playing with the buttons, or “pushers” as some call them. There’s one at the two o’clock position, and another at four o’clock. Press the top one, and the seconds hand starts moving. Press it again, and it stops. Simple enough, right? The bottom one, that’s for resetting the whole thing. I spent a good few minutes just clicking them, starting and stopping the timer, just to get a feel for it.
Here’s what I noticed:
- The buttons have a nice click to them, not mushy like some other watches I’ve tried.
- The seconds hand moves smoothly, no jerky movements or anything like that.
- It’s easy to read the time, even with all the other dials and stuff on the face.
Now, this watch, it’s got this thing called a “chiming complication.” I’m no expert, but from what I understand, it makes a sound on the hour, and sometimes on the quarter-hour too. I haven’t heard it chime yet, but I’m kind of looking forward to it. It’s like having a little clock right there on your wrist, but the chimes sounds good, not annoying.
Setting It Up
Setting the time was a breeze. Just pull out the crown, turn it until the hands are where you want them, and push it back in. Done. No complicated instructions or anything like that. Even I didn’t mess it up, and I’m not the best with these things usually.
I’ve been wearing it for a few days now, and I gotta say, I’m impressed. It keeps time well, looks good, and feels comfortable on my wrist. I’ve even gotten a few compliments on it. One guy, he seemed to know a lot about watches, he started talking about “movements” and “complications,” but honestly, I just nodded along. I don’t know much about all that technical stuff. I just like that it works and looks nice.
They say this watch is like the one they wore in space. Took ’em six years to make, I heard. That’s a long time, but I guess it shows they put a lot of effort into it. It’s a numbered edition too, which I guess makes it kind of special. Not that I’m planning on selling it or anything. I’m gonna wear this thing until it falls apart, or until I do, whichever comes first.
Overall, I’m happy with my CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Chrono Chime. It’s a solid watch, does what it’s supposed to do, and looks good doing it. What more could you ask for? I reckon it’s a classic for a reason. It’s the kind of watch you can wear every day, no matter what you’re doing. And that’s just what I need.
