RemakePRADA Medium Prada Galleria Bag How Does It Compare To The Classic Style

Okay, so, a while back I got this idea stuck in my head. I wanted to try my hand at making a bag. Not just any bag, mind you. I’m talking about the PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. Yeah, that one. It’s a classic, you know? Always looks good, never goes out of style.

First, I started by gathering everything I needed. I went down to the local craft store and picked up some leather, the Saffiano kind, because that’s what Prada uses. It’s got this nice cross-hatch pattern, real fancy. Then I got some thread, strong stuff, and a few other bits and bobs like buckles and a zipper.

Next up, cutting the leather. This was a bit tricky. I laid out the leather, all smooth and new, and got to work with my cutter. I had printed out a pattern I found online, but making sure everything was straight and even, that was a real test.

Then came the sewing. Oh boy, the sewing. I used my old sewing machine, the one my grandma gave me. It took a while to get the hang of it again, but once I did, it was kind of fun. I sewed the pieces together, following the pattern as best as I could. There were a few mess-ups, but hey, it’s handmade, right?

After sewing the main parts, I had to attach the handles. This was another tricky part. Getting them to sit right, and making sure they were strong enough, that took some doing. I used this special kind of glue and then sewed them on for extra strength. I also added the zipper at the top, which was easier than I thought it would be.

The final step was adding the lining. I chose a soft fabric, kind of silky, to give it a nice feel on the inside. I sewed it in by hand, which took forever, but I wanted it to look neat. And then, just like that, it was done.

  • Gather materials: Saffiano leather, thread, buckles, zipper.
  • Cut the leather using a printed pattern.
  • Sew the leather pieces together using a sewing machine.
  • Attach the handles using glue and sewing.
  • Add the zipper to the top of the bag.
  • Sew in the lining by hand.

It’s not perfect, not by a long shot. There are some wobbly stitches, and the leather was a bit tough to work with. But you know what? I made it. My very own “Remake” PRADA Medium Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag. And I think it’s pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. It’s got that classic look, and it feels good to carry around. Plus, I saved a bunch of money by making it myself. Who knew I had it in me?

It just goes to show, sometimes you gotta take a chance and try something new. You might surprise yourself. And hey, if you end up with a nice bag at the end of it, even better.
