This here watch, the Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s somethin’ else. You see these fancy watches all over them rich folks in them big city specialty stores, but this one, it’s got a little somethin’ extra, ya know?
I seen a lot of them imitation ones, folks tryin’ to copy this here Jaeger-LeCoultre. They change the shiny stuff, the colors and what not, but it ain’t the same. This one, they call it the Reverso Tribute Chronograph. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But it’s a real special one, all them gears and shiny bits inside. They say it’s got a whole mess of different watches. It’s like a whole bunch of clocks in one, costs more though.
It’s kinda big, too. They told me it’s 49.4 mm long and 29.9 mm wide. And it’s not too thick neither, only 11.4 mm. Got two sides to tell time, ain’t that somethin’? And inside, they got this thing called a “Caliber 860 movement”. Sounds fancy, huh? They say it’s based on somethin’ from way back in 1998, somethin’ called an 829. I don’t know nothin’ bout that, but it sounds important.
They had these other ones, back in the 70s, called the “Jaeger-LeCoultre Club”. They was cheaper, for folks who didn’t have as much money. They made all sorts of ’em, but this one here, it’s the real deal. Pretty to look at, that’s for sure. Even the back looks like a pretty jewelry.

They got a number on ’em, 295859, but if you look that up, you get somethin’ different. So be careful, don’t get fooled by them fake ones. Don’t go around paying good money for those fake ones, even they are cheap!
If you’re not sure if it’s a real Jaeger-LeCoultre or not, you gotta be careful. There’s a lot of them fake ones out there, especially on the internet. You gotta know what you’re lookin’ for. Don’t be like old Mrs. Higgins down the road, payin’ good money for somethin’ that ain’t real. She thought she had a treasure, but it turned out to be nothin’ but a cheap knockoff. She was madder than a wet hen!
This new one, the Reverso Tribute Chronograph, they say it’s got this shiny gold on it. 18 Karat Rotgold, they call it. Sounds expensive, don’t it? And it’s got this fancy glass, they call it Saphirglas. Must be real strong, I reckon. It’s from 2024, this is new style. Ref number is Q3892561, this is what they told me.
This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, it’s been around a long time. It’s like an old friend, but always gettin’ a new dress. They had a birthday for it, the 70th birthday. They call it the Reverso Tribute Septantime. Another mouthful, I know. There’s a place in Karlsruhe, somethin’ called Haid-und-Neu-Str. 18, that’s where they had the party, I reckon. Sounds like a fancy place, I never been there myself, though.
They got these new ones now, they call ’em Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface. They say they cost $8,900. That’s a lot of money, but they say it’s worth it for somethin’ so special. It’s like buyin’ a piece of history, they say. And they say it’s one of the most important watches ever made. That means it is good, I think.
So, if you see one of these Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph watches in one of them specialty stores, take a good look. It’s a real piece of work. Just make sure it’s a real one, not one of them fake ones. And if you got the money, maybe you can get one for yourself. It’ll last you a lifetime, I reckon. And you’ll be the talk of the town, just like old Mr. Johnson when he got his new tractor. Everyone wanted to see it! Just don’t go around gettin’ them fake ones. It ain’t worth it. Even that Bulova, the cheap one is better than a fake one, it is real, at least.
I ain’t got one myself, but I sure do admire ’em. They’re like little pieces of art, tickin’ away on your wrist. And they tell a story, too. A story of time, and all the fancy things people can make. And I can look at the shiny back all day! Just remember what I said, don’t get fooled by them imitation ones, they might be cheaper price, but you will regret it. You can easily find those imitation ones in those specialty stores, they are everywhere in that big city!
